“May the God of Hope fill you
with all Joy and Peace in believing,
so that you may abound in Hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit”
Romans 15:13
Greetings from Pastor Melissa:
Welcome to St Christopher’s website where you can learn a lot about who we are as one of God’s vessels in the world. We are glad that you have looked us up and we hope you will join in and walk your spiritual journey with us!
St Christopher is a very exciting and joyful church with so much to offer you. We are a newborn church founded in 2007 by Bishop Mike Klusmeyer and the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York after four smaller parishes came together for new life in Christ. Now we are growing by leaps and bounds.
We have so much to offer people of all walks of life. We believe that God is calling us to truly live into our name sake, St Christopher, the patron Saint of travel and Christ bearer to those who do not know the Risen Christ. We strive to be a beacon of Christ’s light and love for one another and in the neighborhood and community.
Most recently we purchased two transportation vans so that we can go out and pick up people who do not have a ride to church on Sunday mornings. We have a large and immensely talented choir led by our excellent Minister of Music, Fred Chiles. Not too mention our generous hospitality as our fellowship committee, parish members, and vestry provide snacks and meals following the 8 AM and 10:30 AM Sunday services. We have a strong pastoral care committee that reaches out to those recovering from illness, homebound and nursing home members and anyone who just needs a cheerful card to pick up their day. Our focus is on Children and Youth ministries both for Sunday School programs but also by reaching out to our local schools in the neighborhood offering the gifts, talent and experience so many of our members have. We are blessed with talented educators, social workers, medical professionals and much more. Most recently we are volunteering our time at J.E. Robins Elementary school on the Westside to help with math, science, English, office work and chaperones for field trips. We believe excellent stewardship means “going Green” and we are making this a goal! These are just a few of the exciting ministries going on at St. Christopher. Make sure you check out our Christian Education programs, Summer Day Camp program or attend our Tastes and Sounds of Christmas program each December.
Be sure to join us soon as you won’t want to miss the excitement and joy as we continue to spiritually grow, worship together, and be Christ bearers to the world.
God Bless you!
